Golden Gait Australian Shepherds was founded in Stuart, FL, 1975 with the acquisition of my first Aussie, Cascade’s Argo. He was a blue merle male from Las Rocosa bloodlines and a wonderful ambassador for the breed. I met Cindy (Kase) Ries, Shadowfax, in 1981. I bought an adult black tri female, Tri To Be Tuff of Shadowfax. Shortly after, I bought her half sister, an eight week old puppy, “Molly”, CH. Shadowfax Black Gold. So began seventeen years of showing and breeding under my ASCA Registered Kennel Name, GOLDEN GAIT.

In 1998, I began an eight year hiatus from breeding. I judged many ASCA conformation shows during this time period and had the pleasure of being invited to California, Texas, Georgia, North Carolina and Germany. In 1996, I was honored to be asked to judge the AKC National Specialty Sweepstakes for the United States Australian Shepherd Assn.

I moved to North Florida in 2004 and have recently resumed showing. My breeding program is usually limited to one litter per year. I would like to thank Rocky & Jackie Baudo for storing frozen semen from their Champion line bred Golden Gait male, South Point Stormysrolnthunder.

I co-own and co-breed with two of my oldest and best friends, Linda Robertson of Morninglory and Pam Combee of Bearfoot. Their kennel names appear on many of my current dogs. I would like to thank them for helping me get started again.

Puppies and occasionally an adult are available to approved homes with sales contract and health certificate. References and questionnaire required from prospective owners. Handling and conformation training, private boarding and litter evaluation available.

We live near Lake City and Live Oak, FL. We have five resident Aussies, two old timers, a Cardigan Welsh Corgi and a Long Haired Chihuahua, and our self proclaimed resident, the Cat. Our Equine Associates are Foundation Registered gaited Florida Cracker mares.
